Shriek is a super-villian that has had several run-ins with Spider-Man. She is a persistent foe, and has many abilities, most notably her super-sonic shriek that she gets her name from, and her ability to bring out the fear and rage in people. She is considered insane and unstable, was imprisoned in Ravencroft Institute on several occasions which during her last stay seems to have stabilised Frances' mind and caused Shriek to disappear somewhat, and is not scared to kill civilians.

Role in the Spider-Man SeriesEdit
Shriek's persona re-appears after intense stress is caused to her when at Halltech she sees The Spider-Man Doppleganger nearly killed. She later takes Tanis Nieves prosthetic arm after she cuts it off as she sees it as Carnage's child. Carnage makes her cause a riot in the streets and the symbiotic prosthetic grows afraid of her and returns to Tanis bonding with her becoming Scorn. Scorn forces her to 'shriek' which ends the fight between Iron Man, Spider-Man and Carnage. The force of being made to do this puts her into a coma.
